Northeastern Assn of Grad Schools Live 3-Minute Thesis Competition In-Person
Penn PhD candidate Jaydee Edwards (Earth & Environmental Sciences) has been selected as a finalist and will be representing Penn in the upcoming Northeastern Association of Graduate Schools (NAGS) 2025 Three-Minute Thesis (3MT) Live Competition. The 3 Minute Thesis competition celebrates graduate student scholarship, cultivates students’ academic, presentation, and research communication skills and supports students’ capacity to effectively explain their research in three minutes, in a language appropriate to a lay audience.
Each year, the winner of the Penn 3MT competition is invited to participate in the annual NAGS 3MT competition. Jaydee has progressed through the first stage of the contest and will compete alongside selected finalists in a live competition on Friday, April 25. The winner and runner-up of the NAGS competition then advance to the Council of Graduate Schools (CGS) national competition.
Live Finals Round Details: The NAGS 3MT competition will be held live via Zoom where we will see the select 3MT presentations. The panel of volunteer judges will pick the winner with a people’s choice category selected by the attendees. The event will be open to a wider audience to watch the live stream**. (In order to vote, you will need to be logged into the Zoom or have the ability to visit a link provided during the livestream).
