Hiking the Wissahickon with the Grad Center In-Person
Are you ready to enjoy the crisp autumn air while exploring one of Philadelphia's greatest trails? Join the Grad Center as we embark on a gorgeous fall hike through the Wissahickon. Whether you're joining for an adventure or a photoshoot, we've got you covered. This event will also be co-sponsored by the Graduate Student Hiking Club!
We will be meeting at 30th Street Station beginning at 10:00 a.m. and will take the 10:24 am SEPTA Regional Rail to the Richard Allen Lane stop. We will enter the middle of the park and follow through Glen Fern, Devil's Pool, Finger Span Bridge, and more, with many great photo spots along the way! We will return to 30th Street Station via the Tulpehocken stop. Please note that restrooms are not available along the trail, and unfortunately, bathroom breaks cannot be guaranteed. Please wear comfortable walking shoes and be prepared for some chillier weather.
This event is for graduate and professional students only.
Please note that we will be taking SEPTA Regional Rail to this hike. If you wish to travel with the group, you must arrive at 30th Street Station no later than 10:20 am. A representative from the Grad Center will be inside 30th Street Station, in front of the SEPTA kiosks, with a sign for attendees to gather at. We will be taking the 10:24 am SEPTA train to the Richard Allen lane stop. Please arrive on time. We will not be able to delay our transportation to the event to accommodate latecomers. Alternatively, attendees who wish to meet at the Richard Allen Lane Regional Rail SEPTA station can meet us there at 11:00 am. We will wait a few minutes before proceeding on our hike.
